What to expect

The first therapy session will give you an opportunity to tell me more about yourself and what you hope to achieve from coming to therapy. Often, people don’t have a clear idea of what they want, but know that they want something different. You will have time to ask any questions and we can talk about the possibilities and expectations for our work together.

I can then talk about how I work in more detail, but specifically in relation to your needs. By the end of the first session, you will probably have a good idea of whether you would like to start therapy with me and if you would find it useful.

I also encourage a respectful and trusting relationship where you will feel comfortable and safe enough to explore problems and feelings and express thoughts without fear of criticism or judgement.

I am able to offer long or short term therapy for adult individuals. We can decide to review our sessions as therapy progresses or work for a fixed number of weeks.

Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes.
